There’s no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic) or the reasons we seek it out (a luxurious treat, stress relief, pain management), massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress.

Research continues to show the enormous benefits of touch—which range from treating chronic diseases, neurological disorders, and injuries, to alleviating the tensions of modern lifestyles.

Swedish Massage

One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Deep Tissue/Neuro-Muscular and Myofacial Release

Techniques that utilize deep-tissue/deep-muscle massage are administered to affect the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis.
Neuro-Muscular Therapy is a comprehensive program of soft-tissue manipulation that balances the body’s central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. It is used to locate and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, assist venous and lymphatic flow, and restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics, and flexibility to the tissues.

Myofascial release is the three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to eliminate fascial restrictions and facilitate the emergence of emotional patterns and belief systems that are no longer relevant or are impeding progress.

Esogetic Colorpuncture™

A system of holistic acupressure-light therapy developed by Peter Mandel twenty years ago.

The Esogetic Colorpuncture™ applies different frequencies of visible and
invisible light on specific points on the skin to harmonize the hormonal changes happening during stress and the cycles of life, to heal a specific imbalance in your body, and to activate a greater consciousness in order to reconnect to the purpose of Life.

Gentle, relaxing and non invasive, colorpuncture is sometimes used as an alternative to acupuncture for children and adults uncomfortable with the use of needles.

Colorpuncture is very supportive with other bodywork modalities and the use of drugs from the Western medicine. Because this light therapy works with acupressure on the skin, it fits perfectly with massage.

Saying that some believe it will be the next medicine, please take a minute to read how Dr. Lawrence DelRe envisions the future of medicine in his last book
“Rejuvenation: Using the Power of Light”:
“Endocrinologists will be using coherent light as one of their primary modes of treatment. They will stimulate the thyroid in low thyroid conditions (...), on the adrenal glands, (…) on the ovaries to ease the transition of menopause. They will eventually hand the work over to licensed coherent light therapists by prescription. (…) Many sinus problems will be treated with coherent light before drugs are tried. (…) Rheumatoid arthritis will be nothing more than an inconvenience; most will not need the drugs we use for it today.”

Reflexology

Based on an ancient Chinese therapy, reflexology involves manipulation of specific reflex areas mainly in the foot that correspond to other parts of the body. Sometimes referred to as zone therapy, this bodywork involves application of pressure to these reflex zones to stimulate body organs and relieve areas of congestion. Similar to acupressure principles, reflexology works with the body’s energy flow to stimulate self-healing and maintain balance in physical function. This technique is used to reduce pain, increase relaxation, and stimulate circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids. It is especially useful in stress-related illness and emotional disorders.

Craniosacral Therapy

The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face, and mouth--which make up the cranium--down to the sacrum or tailbone. Craniosacral therapy encourages the body’s natural healing mechanisms to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, dissipate the negative effects of stress, and enhance health and resistance to disease. The craniosacral therapy practitioner uses a light touch (the weight of a nickel) to assist the natural movement of fluid within the craniosacral system.

Oils of Anointing (Adevaya Solar Oils)

“The therapy of Anointing is a sacred and re-unifying act which touches us at the most intimate and ultimate part of ourselves; practiced with a consciousness of “solar” and soothing touch, it re-orientates the person to the sense of Living. The Oils of Anointing take care of the Body and re-awaken it to its sacred dimension. Gently they follow the path of the senses in order to re-unify the whole being and restore to it its wholeness; a re-awakening of the senses and of awareness. Starting from its bodily and sensual reality, the whole being returns to itself. As mediators, Anointing and the Oils of Anointing re-establish a fluid and rhythmical relationship within us and amongst us, between us and Life which is present in us.” Zeltarah-Francoise Leskens.

The Adevaya Solar Oils can be combined with a massage session or not. They will embrace the benefits of your massage session longer and deeper.
